MAKE IT HAPPEN MONDAY
Tax season is upon us…
So let’s get ready for it. Here’s a step by step guide on how New Jersey residents can prepare, and here’s a link to more info!
Key Dates: Tax season begins January 27th, and the filing deadline is April 15, 2025. File early to avoid the rush!
Get Your Documents Together: Gather all necessary documents like W-2s, 1099s, mortgage statements, and receipts for deductions.
Know Your NJ Tax Breaks
Property Tax Deduction: Claim your property tax deduction if eligible.
Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC): For lower-income residents, this could reduce your bill.
Child & Dependent Care Credit: Claim if you’re paying for child care.
Choose the Right Filing Status: Your filing status (single, married, head of household) impacts your tax rate. Review your options carefully.
Consider Deductions: Don’t miss deductions like medical expenses, student loan interest, or charitable donations.
File Early & Secure Your Refund: Filing early can speed up your refund if you’re expecting one.
Get Help if Needed: Use tax software for a simple return, or consider a tax professional for more complex situations.
By staying organized and aware of key dates and deductions, tax season can (hopefully) be a breeze.
